Meteorologist Isaac Smith says a flood watch is in effect for south central and southwest Arizona through Friday, Dec. 22, and possibly early Saturday, Dec. 23.

“We'll be looking at some pretty heavy rain out there across those areas this morning to the afternoon," Smith said.

Smith says some areas may see as much as 2 inches of rain before it begins to dry out Saturday and into next week.

There’s a  winter storm warning in northern Arizona for Friday and through Saturday evening. Certain areas are expected to see 3 to 15 inches of snow, while areas 10,000 feet in elevation are expected to receive 2 feet.
