New $6.1 million park in north Scottsdale will include pickleball, basketball courts

Construction is underway for a new park in north Scottsdale that voters approved as part of the 2019 bond election.

Ashler Hills Park is being built on 17 acres north of the Loop 101, near Scottsdale and East Lone Mountain Roads. It will include a shaded playground and exercise equipment, a picnic area, walking paths and trails. Lighted basketball and pickleball courts will be located along the property line adjacent to existing commercial development to provide a sound buffer from neighborhoods.

Scottsdale completed an inventory of native plants and says the site maintains most of the significant plants, including saguaros. The $6.1 million park is expected to be completed in 2025.

Construction will generally take place weekdays between 6 a.m and 6 p.m, with occasional night and weekend work as needed.
