Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone sends resignation letter to Board of Supervisors

Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone’s last day in office will be Jan.  12.

He confirmed this in a resignation letter sent to the County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday.

While he announced plans to resign in October, the board may now officially start looking for a replacement, though it has not voted on what the next steps will be.

Penzone declined to comment on what he will do after his last day.
