For decades, the NCAA has held the men’s basketball Final Four inside football stadiums – including the Arizona Cardinals’ home venue in 2017.
Local preparations continue as the mega sporting event will return to Glendale in April.
Spectator capacity at the home venue of the defending national champion Connecticut Huskies is just under 10,000. That's dwarfed by the seats available at State Farm Stadium.
“Over 75,000 thousand fans are going to be cheering on their teams there,” said Jay Parry, CEO of the local Final Four organizing committee.
Parry also said the energy inside the stadium is one thing that makes being there extra special.
“We have an enormous center-hung scoreboard that is going to have an amazing video show for the games as well.”
The Final Four includes the semifinal and title games of the annual national tournament known as March Madness.
