Phoenix offers up to $3,000 for lifeguards and other pool staff

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is offering incentive pay to attract qualified managers, assistant managers and lifeguards to fill positions at the city’s roughly two dozen public pools.

Those eligible to fill pool manager positions will get incentive pay of $3,000, while certified assistant managers and lifeguards get $2,000.

Becky Kirk is the city’s aquatics supervisor.

“The reason behind the incentive is to be competitive ... whether that be other municipalities or other aquatic organizations, other part-time jobs," said Becky Kirk, the city’s aquatics supervisor.

Staff will receive $500 of incentive pay on their first paycheck and the remaining incentive at the end of the 2024 pool season.

More information on requirements and how to apply can be found on the department's website
