Overnight temperatures in the upper 30s Wednesday morning made for some of the coldest temperatures in the Valley since last winter, and it’s going to stay brisk for the rest of the week.
Ted Whittock is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“It might be warming up into the weekend. We’re looking at a warming trend with some of the highs into the low 70s in Phoenix on Friday and Saturday. And then the lows in the mid to upper 40s this weekend. And then things start to cool back off beginning on Sunday," Whittocok said.
While the region has been seeing a wetter than normal winter, Whittock says no rain is expected in the next week. Some precipitation may hit areas in higher terrain .
Very chilly temperatures were observed across many areas this morning, especially across south-central AZ where readings in several locations dipped down into the mid to upper 30s. #azwx #cawx pic.twitter.com/bYEz2dSZJt
