'Tis the season for leftovers. How to make the most of your turkey, cookies, candy and egg nog

It’s a few days after Christmas and that might mean there are bits of wrapping paper littered around your living room today, and it also might mean there are a lot of leftovers sitting around. From turkey to cookies to maybe a whole lot of undrunk wine, Tamar Adler is here to say you can use those leftovers in a million different ways.

Adler is a leftovers expert. She’s the author of “The Everlasting Meal,” and the latest edition, “The Everlasting Meal Cookbook: Leftovers A-Z.” But, she spent much of her career working in some of the country’s best kitchens — from Chez Panisse to Prune — where she learned to minimize food waste and make the most out of each ingredient.

The Show spoke with her more about her philosophy on leftovers, and she gave us advice all about how to use what’s sitting around our kitchens today.
