Salt River Project will be doing maintenance on portions of the Arizona and Grand Canals for about a month in early January.
From Jan. 8-Feb. 7, maintenance and repair activities could impact irrigation as those customers will not be receiving water.
The Arizona Canal banks will be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians from 43rd and 59th avenues, between Thunderbird Road and Peoria Avenue.
The Grand Canal banks will also be closed between 27th and 59th avenues along Osborne Road.
Crews will be removing dirt and silt, as well as clearing debris and will check for invasive quagga mussels, which can damage infrastructure.
