Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes says a statewide system to text voters when their ballots are going out and received will be up and running this coming year.
He campaigned on expanding similar services seen in Maricopa and Pima counties across Arizona.
Fontes hopes to test the system in the coming months.
“We may be able to beta test that for the Presidential Preference Election, but it will absolutely be up and running for the General in November 2024,” he said.
Fontes has until Dec. 31 to release the Elections Procedures Manual, which provides counties with guidelines on how to run elections.
