New Year's Eve is a popular wedding date, Phoenix chapel owner says

The alignment of New Year’s Eve this year and numerology has many couples viewing Sunday as an extra special day to tie the knot. The calendar says 12-31-23 — or 1-2-3, 1-2-3.

Rev. Nathaniel Peiman, who owns chapels in Phoenix and California, usually sees a lot of weddings happening at the end of the year.

"We always seem to get unusual demand for Dec. 31, irrespective of the anomaly here of 1-2-3, 1-2-3," he said.

Peiman says couples may choose to wed on the last day of the year to signal a new beginning. Other couples are willing to tempt fate. Peiman says Friday the 13th is also one of the more popular wedding days.
