Coconino County planning a behavioral space for youth

Coconino County health officials are planning a behavioral youth center intended to offer support services to 12- to 18-year-olds.

Youth in Coconino County have asked for a place specifically for them since 2018.

The Youth Behavioral Health Project, as it’s known, is expected to be built and operating by 2025. Those same youth will be responsible for identifying the role the center will take in young peoples’ lives in the county.

So far, plans include drop-in clinics, peer and family support, and community building activities. And it won’t be limited to Flagstaff.

Services for youth will expand to Page, Fredonia, Tusayan and Williams.
