Bureau of Land Management to hold public meetings for Pinyon Solar Project

The Bureau of Land Management will hold two meetings to gather input on its proposed Pinyon Solar Project in southern Maricopa County.

A virtual meeting will be held Jan. 30, and an in-person meeting on Feb. 1 at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center.

The meetings come as the bureau is beginning a 30-day public scoping period to analyze the environmental impact of the 1,730-acre project.

That is set to begin Jan. 30 for a 200 megawatt project made from solar photovoltaic modules.

The bureau will evaluate impacts for species, socioeconomic issues and Tribal concerns.
