Announced Monday, Air France is now the 23rd airline to fly with Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.
Starting May 23, 2024, nonstop flights between Phoenix and Paris will be available at Sky Harbor for the first time.
“Yes, for those of you paying attention, if you book an economy class ticket that means you are drinking French champagne,” said Boaz Hulsman, an executive with Air France and KLM North America. He expressed excitement, saying a nonstop connection between Paris and Phoenix was long overdue.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego echoed that sentiment.
“We know international flight decisions are driven by business travel,” said Gallego. “So this announcement is a testament to our growth and the economic success we are fostering here.”
According to Gallego, the number of passengers flying between Phoenix and Paris grew nearly 40% in the last year, compared to 2019.
“I’m confident that this new route is going to make this frequently traveled path even smoother,” she said.
Gallego noted that the three-day a week service will start in time to send athletes to the Paris Olympics this summer, and encouraged Arizonans to also take advantage of it.
