A smartphone app is making the Phoenix Art Museum more accessible and interactive.
Bloomberg Connects acts as a digital museum guide. Guests can access exclusive content including photos, videos and interviews with artists.
According to interpretation manager Charlotte Quinney, accessibility was an important factor in the decision to join Bloomberg Connects.
“Being able to access images and people’s perspectives on the artwork, from home or in the galleries, is really important, so I think we’re just adding additional layers of interpretation," Quinney said.
The app works at other notable art museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Cincinnati Art Museum. The content is available in over 100 different languages.
