The Grammys are this weekend, the biggest celebration of the best and the brightest in the music world.
This year, at least a few of those artists are from a new genre of sorts — or maybe it’s an old genre that’s finding a new audience.
It’s being called regional Mexican music, for lack of a better phrase. And it’s exploded in popularity in the last few years. It encompasses everything from corridos to cumbia, and it’s being driven by a new generation of young artists from both sides of the border.
