Northern Arizona is buckling down as a major storm expected Tuesday threatens to deteriorate highway conditions.
Mostly rain but also some snow fell on Flagstaff on Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service here predicts snowfall will reach lower elevations.
The Arizona Department of Transportation anticipates difficult driving conditions through Wednesday morning. And Public Works in Coconino County shut down a 7-mile stretch of Lake Mary Road in anticipation of high winds and heavy snows.
NOW: Snow can be seen falling on parts of I-40, SR 260 and SR 89A.
