Queen Creek issues a Super Bowl 'Brocklamation' to celebrate native son Brock Purdy

The town of Queen Creek is celebrating as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Niners quarterback Brock Purdy is a native of the town, and Mayor Julia Wheatley said that’s led to some honorific fun.

“We adopted a ‘Brocklamation’ in honor of Brock Purdy and we have signs supporting him and several ‘Brock parties’ around the town celebrating him, who he is, his accomplishments,” she said.

Purdy was the very last player drafted in 2022, earning him the dreaded title, “Mr. Irrelevant.” Since then, he’s been anything but, leading the 49ers to the NFC Championship last year and the Super Bowl this year.

Game time in Arizona is 4:30 p.m.
