2 arrested after detectives find stolen vehicles, drugs, human skulls at Mesa shop

Detectives arrested two suspects on multiple felony charges, after seven stolen vehicles, methamphetamine, firearms and two human skulls were found at an automotive business in Mesa.

Vehicle Theft Task Force detectives served the warrant at Meadows Auto near First Avenue and Country Club Drive on Feb. 8.

Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Bart Graves says it’s not clear if the shop was operating.

"In our experience, when VTTF serves these warrants, some of these locations, such as auto shops, are more of a front for illegal activity that’s occurring within," Graves said.

The skulls were turned over to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.

Property owner Eddie Meadows, 45, was booked into Maricopa County jail on multiple charges including theft of means of transportation, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor and possession of a dangerous drug.

Tara Montgomery, 40, was also booked into jail on numerous drug-related charges.
