Residents living in Anthem, New River and surrounding communities will soon get a new library. Maricopa County recently purchased a $9 million property to expand its North Valley Regional Library.
The library will relocate from its current spot at Boulder Creek High School, where hours are limited to after school. Besides a larger footprint, the library will have longer operating hours, something Jeremy Reeder, the director of the Maricopa County Library District, is excited about.
“Increased access for the growing community is the number one goal. That's what we felt we missed the most when we had to adjust our hours and our size at the school," he said.
Reeder says some minor construction will have to take place before the library can finally open its doors.
