Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to travel to Phoenix on Friday, following President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address a day earlier.
It will be Harris’ fourth trip to Arizona since being sworn in, according to the White House. Details about the visit have not yet been released.
The Phoenix stop is one of two Harris plans to make in the Southwest — after Arizona, she’s scheduled to travel to Las Vegas on Saturday.
The vice president’s trip further underscores the importance Arizona, as one of a few swing states, will play in the presidential election this November.
Biden is expected to handily win Arizona’s Presidential Preference Election on March 19. But he only narrowly won Arizona in the 2022 presidential election, besting former President Donald Trump by 10,457 votes, less than half of 1% of the nearly 3.4 million ballots cast.
