A new study from the Pew Research Center says Latinos in the U.S. view the sheer number of migrants trying to enter the country at the Southwest border as a problem. But they also don’t view bigger border walls or increased deportations as the solution.
The center found that like non-Hispanics, a majority of Latinos surveyed, 74%, say the U.S. government is doing a bad job of addressing migration.
Two-thirds said hiring more judges and staff to facilitate migration would help, and 58% support creating more opportunities to legally immigrate.
More stringent actions, like targeting employers of undocumented immigrants or expanding the border wall, were approved of by less than a third.
