The average price for regular unleaded gas in Arizona is now $3.58 per gallon. That’s about 17 cents higher than last week.
Contributing to the hike are higher oil prices, spring driving demand, and states making the switch to more expensive summer-blend fuel.
AAA Arizona spokesman Julian Paredes says prices will continue to climb, but likely at a slower pace.
“It’ll be interesting to see what happens next week and the week after, if gas prices do go up by 10 or more cents in the next couple of weeks that will definitely be surprising,” Paredes said.
Arizona gas prices are still higher than the national average by about 20 cents.
