Phoenix airport child care scholarship program accepting applications

Financial help is available for eligible Phoenix airport employees with young children.

Scholarships are available to badged airport workers who meet income requirements. That includes city employees, airline employees, concession workers and contractors with children who are not yet eligible for kindergarten.

Households with an annual gross income that does not exceed 400% of the federal poverty level can apply. For a family of four, the income limit is $120,000. Scholarships are meant to cover child care center costs that meet or exceed standards of First Things First’s Quality First program (3-5 stars).

Phoenix is using $4 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds to support the program, which is being managed by Valley of the Sun United Way.
