New scholarship to cover tuition for AZ law enforcement officers family members

Applications for a new scholarship program for family members of law enforcement will be accepted by the Arizona Board of Regents starting on Friday.

The program is available to qualifying spouses and dependents under 27 of law enforcement and corrections officers.

The scholarship covers tuition for associates and bachelor's degrees and some certificates. The qualifying students must be attending a state university, community college or vocational school.

The scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis out of a $10,000,000 fund. Applicants must complete a FAFSA and submit certifications relating to the law enforcement officer.

The scholarships will be available starting this fall.
