National Republicans hire attorney with ties to AZ Senate election audit

An attorney hired by the Republican National Committee to focus on alleged election fraud has ties to the Arizona Senate’s discredited audit of the 2020 presidential election.

The Washington Post first reported the RNC hired Christina Bobb, who was an attorney for former President Donald Trump and past Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

While a host on the far-right One America News Network in 2021, Bobb received unfettered access to the Senate’s so-called audit of Maricopa County’s presidential election results. Bobb also solicited donations during her broadcasts and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund the audit.

The Senate’s exercise ultimately confirmed that President Joe Biden defeated Trump in Maricopa County in 2020 — though audit experts told the Arizona Republic they concluded the audit was flawed and the results “were meaningless.”

Bobb’s hiring is part of a mass restructuring at the RNC after the organization voted in a new leadership team led by Trump allies, including the former president’s daughter in law.
