Nationwide, gas prices have risen significantly within the last month, and Arizona is no exception.
Prices in February averaged $3.25 in Arizona, 1 cent lower than the national rate. But Arizonans are now paying over 20 cents more than the national average.
"The average price across Arizona went up by about 6 cents in the last week; it’s now $3.64. At the same time, the national average went up by 3 cents, now $3.42," AAA spokesman Julian Paredes said.
Paredes said the rise in Arizona prices is to be expected, as gas stations began their switch to the more expensive summer blend of gas last week.
