Sunny skies to come to the Valley later this week

A low-pressure system in the Valley could extend the chance of showers and potential thunderstorms early in the week.

But temperatures are expected to gradually increase over the next few days.

Isaac Smith is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

“Per start of the week, we’re gonna be looking at highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s and then eventually we’re gonna be looking at those highs climbing into the 80s," he said.

Smith says the chances of rain are more likely in higher-terrain areas.
