Before you cast your ballot in this year’s election, there’s another vote happening in Maricopa County. The County Recorder’s Office is holding its first-ever contest to pick new designs for its “I voted” stickers.
The recorder’s office narrowed down submissions to choose 10 finalists in an adult category and a kids category. Now, it's up to the public to choose the winners. The two winning designs will be added to the assortment of stickers passed out at polling places or included with mail-in ballots this year.
Illustrations in contention include a stern-looking bald eagle, children jumping in the air in front of the Superstition Mountains, a Gila monster flicking its long tongue, a smiling sun, and of course, several different depictions of saguaro cactus.
Online voting is open through April 7 at StickerContest.Maricopa.Vote.
