The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors met Wednesday afternoon to appoint one of three applicants to fill the vacant Arizona House seat for Legislative District 8.
The board appointed Deborah Nardozzi to represent District 8 until the end of the year. It’s the second time they're appointing a representative to that district this year alone.
Nardozzi has worked as a campaign supervisor and manager, and as the chair for District 24.
Her predecessor, fellow Democrat Jevin Hodge, resigned in March after the Arizona Republic reported that he violated sexual misconduct policies as a student at George Washington University almost a decade ago.
House Democrats say they’ll announce details on Nardozzi’s swearing-in ceremony.
