Arizona ranks 21st among all U.S. states in terms of how much people spend on the most common household bills. That’s according to findings from the bill-pay service, doxo.
Arizonans are spending an average of $2,184 a month on those bills. That’s about 2% higher than the national average.
It’s not surprising that Paradise Valley is the most expensive city in the state, but the difference in cost between Paradise Valley and the cheapest city might be. Liz Powell is senior director of Insights at doxo.
“In Paradise Valley, the average per month is around $3,400," Powell said. "That’s what folks pay, which is 60% higher than the U.S. average. So that’s quite a bit," Powell said.
That’s compared to a $1,500 average in the cheapest city, Eloy.
Nationally, Hawaii is the most expensive state to live in, while West Virginia is the cheapest.
