The Snowbowl ski resort in northern Arizona is extending its season after getting more than 30 inches of new snowfall last week.
Angelina Grubb with Arizona Snowbowl says the ski resort would have closed for the season this weekend without the additional powder.
“Last year we stayed open until May 29, and as of right now we have our tickets loaded all the way until May 19. And so who knows, if the snow holds up and the temperatures stay somewhat lower, who knows we could be going to Memorial Day again this year," Grubb said.
Grubb also says the ski resort has received 281 inches of snow so far this season. Last year’s total was nearly 400 inches.
