Triple digits expected in metro Phoenix this weekend, but there's relief ahead

This weekend is predicted to be the hottest so far this year in Arizona.

Austin Jameson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix, says temperatures should reach triple digits on Saturday, but it won’t last long.

"Early next week with the work week, we’ll have a little bit of additional cooling to drop a few more degrees so that we’ll be still warm, but pretty seasonal with highs in the mid to upper 90s," Jameson says.

He says Phoenix should stay in that temperature range throughout the next week or so. It will be about 25 to 30 degrees cooler in Flagstaff.
