No signs of foul play in truck driver's death at TSMC plant in Phoenix, police say

The investigation continues into a fatal incident at the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company plant site in north Phoenix.

Police said a tank holding waste material depressurized, killing a truck driver who had been hauling away the load. The 41-year-old man was checking a noise from the cargo area when he was fatally injured.

Phoenix police Sergeant Philip Krynsky said it appears to be an accident.

"We don’t see any signs of foul play, but again we want to make sure we speak to everybody involved," Krynsky said. "There’s still some follow-up that needs to be done with equipment. And as you know there’s probably some federal entities that are going to be getting involved with this as well."

Officials with TSMC Arizona said in a statement that no company employees or onsite construction workers were injured, and there was no damage to the plant’s facilities.
