Mesa held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Gateway Library on Saturday, May 18. The 28,000 square foot library is expected to open in summer 2025.
Among the expected amenities include a multipurpose room and outdoor reading patio.
“We've designed it very intentionally with kind of a layered sensory experience is what we're calling it with shadow and light play," said library director Polly Bonnett. "There'll be a lot of engagement opportunities. We want to encourage exploration and discovery and foster that love of learning."
Funding for this project comes from a 2018 voter-approved bond.
