602 is Phoenix’s most prominent area code. Local businesses and organizations will provide discounts and deals for $6.02. The city expects more than a hundred restaurants shops, and cultural attractions to take part. You can find a map with all the deals and events at 602Day.com
Chicago’s 312 Day, St. Louis’ 314 and Milwaukee’s 414 Day are among the biggest and well-known.
In Tucson, local business owners started “Tucson Day” to support local businesses on May 20, which represents the city’s 520 area code.
According to a press release from city of Phoenix, in 1947, AT&T assigned the state of Arizona the 602 area code. In 1995, the 520 area code split metro Phoenix (602) from the rest of Arizona. Today, the state has five area codes: 602, 520, 480, 623 and 928.
