ADEQ issues high pollution advisory for Wednesday

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued an ozone  high pollution advisory for Maricopa County on Wednesday. Most of the morning is expected to be OK.

ADEQ forecasts highest ozone levels to be between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Wood burning and off-highway vehicle use are prohibited.

Levels are expected to go down later in the week as winds pick up, though Thursday levels are forecast to be high.

As for the smoke coming from the Wildcat Fire, north of Scottsdale, that is a separate matter and not the cause of this advisory.
