Arizona is among the top 10 worst states for mental health care

Arizona is among the top 10 worst states for mental health care, according to a study by a national consumer publication.

The study by Forbes Advisor looked at all 50 states and Washington, D.C., using data from Mental Health America and the U.S. Census Bureau. Zoi Galarraga is with Forbes. She says research shows Arizona is the 6th worst state for mental health care.

"Arizona stands out as the state with the second highest percentage of adults with a mental illness who do not receive any treatment — over 63%. And the state has the third highest percentage of adults with a mental illness who do not receive adequate treatment."

The study also found that Arizona also has the ninth-highest percentage of adults with a mental illness who are uninsured.
