Right on cue on Memorial Day, temperatures are going to be mostly in the 100s in the Phoenix area at least through Sunday.
Meteorologist Ted Whittock with the National Weather Service in Phoenix says for now and in the short term, they aren’t issuing heat advisories. Though there is minor to moderate heat risk noted in the forecast.
“It looks like above normal temperatures are still favored going forward beyond the next week. So we could see temperatures in the triple digits going forward for quite some time," Whittock said.
Whittock says it’s expected to be as high as 105 on Tuesday. Last year, Phoenix saw a total of 133 days of triple-degree temperatures.
