The Foster Alliance opens an additional location on June 4 in Flagstaff

The Foster Alliance provides free resources and goods to foster families and kinship guardians across the state, especially in emergency placement situations.

The Foster Alliance is expanding, opening a second location in Flagstaff on June 4.

Before the expansion, the Foster Alliance had only one location, in Phoenix. It offers basic essentials that clients are able to freely take, like cribs, shoes and back-to-school items.

The nonprofit does have two mobile units that drive around the state, but the Phoenix location has more resources.

Matt Lipan with the Foster Alliance says the Flagstaff location will operate differently, with resources being distributed through the state’s Department of Child Safety and tribal social workers.

“So we’ll have orders that they’ll kind of place with my team. We’ll get those orders pre-made so not really a shopping experience as much as they’ll come in and pick up the orders that they placed," Lipan said.

The new location will primarily be used for volunteer and community-partner engagement, including kit-builds and support services.
