University of Arizona president search: Job ads placed in dozen publications

The search committee advising the state Board of Regents on finding the next president of the University of Arizona got an update today on Tuesday from a paid consultant.

Alberto Pimentel told committee members that advertisements for the job are now running in about a dozen publications.

“Individuals for this type of position usually wait to be invited. And after they’ve turned us down a couple of times, then they expect us to be encouraging them. And nudging them to engage in the process,” Pimentel said.

Pimentel also said possible applicants have already given feedback on a recently published job brochure that’s nearly 40 pages long.

Discussion of potential candidates to be UA’s next president was done in private.
