Administrative specialist for KJZZ and Division of Public Service


KJZZ and Division of Public Service is looking for an enthusiastic administrative professional who is passionate about supporting public radio and service in the nonprofit sector.

The administrative specialist acts as the first point of contact for the Division of Public Service and is expected to greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls and manage front desk operations with warmth and professionalism.

This position assists with activities such as helping with donor communications, events, data entry, volunteer supervision and participates as part of a team in day-to-day operations.

The Division of Public Service is home to three award-winning public radio stations — KJZZ, KBACH and Sun Sounds — in addition to the SPOT 127 Youth Media Center and Hear Arizona podcasts.

Essential functions

35% - Greet and engage visitors, answer incoming calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
30% - Oversee front desk operations, including mail handling and supply management.
25% - Generate correspondence and acknowledgments using the membership database.
10% - Coordinates and supports the execution of donor-related contests, ticket giveaways and event reservations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired qualifications

1. Two or more years working in an administrative role.
2. Experience utilizing a customer database system for the purposes of generating correspondence.
3. One year of experience coordinating schedules, managing calendars and preparing related meeting materials.
4. One year of experience working with and cultivating relationships with volunteers.
