For the first time, Arizona’s tourism tax revenue topped $4 billion in 2023.

That’s according to a new report from the Arizona Office of Tourism.

From the Super Bowl, to the World Series, to the opening concert of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, there were a lot of reasons to visit Arizona in 2023. But Maricopa County, which hosted both of those events, was not the only county getting a boost.

Visitors spent just over $29 billion across Arizona’s 90-plus cities and towns.

International visitors were up 20% from 2022, with the largest number visiting from Mexico.

Domestically, visitors from California and Texas topped the list and helped drive nearly 9,000 new tourism-related jobs.
