Gas prices in Arizona may soon drop below $3, a welcome relief given the average price of a gallon of gas in the state is 17 cents above the national average.

Supply issues have ended in California, meaning a drop in prices in states like Arizona that rely on California’s supply may occur, says Julian Paredes from AAA Arizona.

“The most expensive gas in Arizona is in Graham County. It’s averaging about $3.53. La Paz County has the cheapest at $3.15," said Paredes.

Paredes says the effects of Hurricane Helene will likely keep the national average price “steady.”

But he also says the gas production is not expected to be impacted by the hurricane and that gas is projected to get cheaper in the next few weeks and months.
