Phoenix is on track to mark two straight weeks of record high temperatures.

Temperatures above 110 degrees usually end in late August. But on Sunday, Phoenix hit 113 degrees, breaking the previous record of 105 set in 1917.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning through Tuesday night. People are encouraged to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 105 degrees later this week, which could break more records.

Phoenix experienced its hottest June on record, followed by its second hottest July and third hottest August.
