Boeing is expected to lay off 184 employees at their Mesa location, according to a notice filed with Arizona. This comes after the company announced it would be cutting 10% of its workforce, or around 17,000 jobs, in October.
Boeing says it has more than 4,800 employees across the state, with most of them at their Mesa location.
The plant is the city’s third-largest employer and ranks among the top 100 largest employers in Arizona, according to the Arizona Republic.
The layoffs come after a recent eight-week strike from its machinists union and regulatory trouble after a door plug panel from an Alaska Airlines plane blew off midflight in January.
Employees at the Mesa facility said no one was available to comment.
