Cybersecurity expert warns people about scammers during holiday shopping

With Cyber Monday coming up, people need to take extra precautions to avoid getting scammed when holiday shopping.

That means setting up the extra proper security measures to prevent others from gaining access to your accounts.

Jerry Keely is with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency living in Tucson.

“People getting a hold of usernames and passwords, that’s fairly easy and fairly common. But to have your username, password and access to your phone where it gets texts is very, very slim so you really decrease the odds of you being able to have your account stolen," he said.

Keely also suggests using credit cards instead of debit cards because credit cards have liability limits associated with them.
