Sky-high prices for basic food and beverages at live sporting events is a reality fans have long dealt with.
Now the Phoenix Suns say they’ve created a concessions-value menu that team officials say are the most affordable in the NBA.
Hot dogs, chips, popcorn, water and sodas will each cost $2 at Suns home games at Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix.
Owner Mat Ishbia calls slashing concession prices an investment in fans.
“We put the fan experience at the forefront of everything we do,” Ishbia said in a press release Wednesday. “The value menu is another investment in our fans and provides options for everyone, ensuring our fans have the best gameday experience in the NBA.”
The move by the Suns comes months after Smith Entertainment Group — owners of the Utah Jazz, and the NHL team formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes — cut concession prices on certain items in the Salt Lake City arena called the Delta Center.
The average price for a hotdog at an NBA arena was more than $6 in 2022, according to NBC Sports.
