Gas prices continued to fall in Arizona over the holidays and will likely continue downward in the coming weeks.

The current state average is about $3.05 per gallon, down about 3 cents from a week ago, and is below the national average.

Julian Paredes with AAA says it's possible the state average could dip below $3 a gallon as January often has lower prices.

"We obviously just had big demand for travel during Christmas, but that tapers off pretty quickly and most of the country is pretty snowed in. So, there’s not a lot of demand for gas right now," Paredes said.

Prices are lowest in La Paz County and highest in Gila County.
