Valley Metro is looking for an artist to celebrate the grand opening of the South Central extension/Downtown Hub. The selected artwork will be used for a commemorative poster and promotional materials.
Valley Metro says submissions should celebrate the multicultural heritage and connections between communities in the south central and downtown Phoenix areas. The artwork should also showcase how the light rail extension will strengthen bonds and create new opportunities for residents.
Artists must be at least 18 years old, demonstrate a connection to south central or downtown and submit original, digitized artwork via the Artlink website.
Applications are being accepted until 5 p.m. on Jan. 24. The winner will receive $2,000.
The South Central Extension/Downtown Hub are expected to open in mid-2025.
