The ongoing Los Angeles wildfires pose major challenges for supply chain operations. But the impacts may be beneficial for Arizona businesses.
That’s according to Dale Rogers, a professor at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, who appeared on PBS’ "Arizona Horizon.”
“It’ll probably be in some ways good for us in Arizona. We’re going to see businesses, we’re going to see people coming over here, I mean maybe some people in Arizona don’t want more people here but overall, I don’t think it’s gonna be bad for us," he said.
However, Rogers says the Port of Los Angeles is functioning well and is limited by issues such as rail slowdowns and rerouting.
He says activity in the port increased in 2024.
